Molson/Budweiser Experience

Working at Budweiser Stage for the past 5 years has been such a blessing. Most of my self development and my work ethics were from this one job. I was able to improve many skills such as my communication, teamwork, time management, conflict resolution, adaptation, working under pressure and more.
To expand on a few, teamwork is key. Starting the day early in the morning, we receive the merchandise, and all stocks must be counted by hand one at a time. Once everything is counted, we have to set up the tents, the stands, and be ready for business before doors open for the public to enter. This is a very tedious job, in which everyone had a role to count certain items, set up tables, sort shirts, sweaters, CD's, posters, and more! A team counting and setting up the stand can take around 6 hours, so everyone has a role to play. Once the concert ends, we repeat the whole process; count what is left, and pack it all up to be sent to the next concert location. Everyone has a role to do if they want to leave early!

Adaptation was another skill that I've gained while working here for 4 years. Every concert is always different. On the day of, we have to learn all the prices for each item that the band is selling. Sometimes it can get hectic, as some bands can have over 18 shirts, and other items like key chains and CD's! Another aspect that helped with my adaptation skills is that there are some days where concerts would not be at Budweiser. Sometimes they would be at Echo Beach, and even in other towns! From experience, I remember getting stationed for one day at Brampton, and the next day at Kingston for the Tragically Hip concert! Sometimes, they wouldn't even be concerts. It would be events like WWE. So it was very important to adjust quickly once reaching the venue.

There is a reason why I stayed with Budweiser for 4 years, and that is because this job keeps on challenging me to get better in many domains, and further develop transferable skills that can be applied to other careers.
pT Health - Central Scarborough Physiotherapy Experience

In my third year of university, I had the honor of doing my internship at Central Scarborough Physiotherapy. This was my first time obtaining work experience in the current field I am studying in. Although my time at pT Health was cut short due to COVID-19, I had obtained a love and a deeper understanding of the industry.

I was fortunate to work with one patient alongside a physiotherapist assistant that I was shadowing for the duration of my time there. From the first session after their assessment, till the end of their treatment. Each week, I'd see this one patient, and it is so rewarding to see their journey of recovery. To see their quality of life improve overtime was eye opening to me, and further deepened my interest in working in physical rehabilitation.

During my time here, is where I also established that I want to work with the aging population. As most of the patients that I was able to interact with, were mostly of the elderly population. Seeing how vulnerable they are, and learning about their conditions, and how physical therapy improved their mobility and quality of life resonated with me.
